How the process works, how long it takes, and how the results hold up — the honest answers we give every Gippsland driver who calls.
Every job starts with a paint inspection and a fixed quote. From there we decontaminate the paint, clay treat, then move into machine paint correction (single or multi-stage depending on condition) before any coating or PPF goes down. Interiors get a full deep-clean in parallel. You leave with a car that looks better than the day it was delivered.
A maintenance detail is a same-day job. A ceramic coating package usually takes 2–4 days depending on the level of paint correction required. A full Terminax PPF install runs 3–7 days. You'll get a realistic finish date in writing before we start — we never rush a car out the door.
A properly prepped Kovalent ceramic coating lasts 3–9 years depending on the tier. Terminax PPF carries a 10-year manufacturer warranty and self-heals light scratches with heat. Both come with a written warranty card, not a handshake.
In almost every case, yes. A coating locks in whatever is on the surface — including swirls, holograms and scratches. Every coating job at Kisses Detailing includes a proper correction stage first, so the finish underneath is right before it's sealed in.
Ceramic coating is a chemical layer that adds serious gloss, hydrophobic beading and chemical resistance. PPF (Terminax) is a physical urethane film that absorbs stone chips and self-heals light scratches. Most clients pair the two — PPF on high-impact panels, ceramic over the top.
A gentle two-bucket wash every 7–10 days does more for your paint than any miracle product. Skip the automatic car washes. Every couple of months a quick decontamination and a top-up silica spray keeps the coating beading tight. We'll walk you through the routine when you pick the car up.
