How to protect your car's paint through a Victorian winter
Frost, road salt, tree sap and gravel roads — Victorian winters are hard on paint. Here's a practical protection plan for Gippsland drivers.
Between coastal salt from the south, frost from the ranges and gravel from every second back road, Gippsland is a tough environment for paint. A little routine goes a long way.
Wash weekly, properly
A quick two-bucket wash every 7–10 days does more for your paint than any once-a-year miracle product. Pre-rinse, snow-foam dwell, top-down wash, pat-dry with a proper microfibre.
Decontaminate every three months
Iron fallout and tree sap bond to the clear coat and eat into it if left. An iron remover and a clay treatment every quarter keeps the surface honest.
Top up your coating
If your car is ceramic coated, a Kovalent-approved silica spray sealant every 3 months keeps the beading tight and the gloss deep. Five minutes of work, another year of protection.
Add PPF where it matters
